DONALD BRUN (1909-1999)

There are extensive discussions about the work of the fabulous Donald Brun in our Poster Design file and Poster of the Month archives, but here I thought it would be fun to briefly point out features of his designs stemming from an observational joy at the heart of his genius. That could lead to discussion of other artists whose wit endows their work with unforgettable energy. (Filmmaker, David Lynch, is one such notable.)

Zwicky— just a little cat, but her enjoyment of touch places her in a special world.

Telephonez!—-those eyes show us how wonderfully mysterious it all is.

Vacances en Suisse— a lamb and his friends seizing the moment.

Schneider-Buch—young ones, all eager to discover wonders.
