FLYING HIGH WITH THE GOLDEN AGE OF MODERNIST GRAPHICS


Were we prone to cynicism and gloom, our thoughts at this time of exposure to visitors to design and retail giant, Fossil’s, website might run along lines of “15 Minutes of Fame.”

But we look at it in a very different way. We’re thrilled that such a savvy outfit has seen eye-to-eye with us that such designs as we have been fostering have a bright future.

We love, too, that the Question & Answer, bio feature—showing us so atypically unglamorous—ventures into surprising locale for discovery.

Just as Lucien Bernhard, the artist who produced the modernist Amoco piece above, had come from the Old World and its avant-garde to the New World and its different (but related) frisson, we—along with Fossil—have unfinished business with the riches of design.
