At the same time, the 1920s, when tout Paris was warming up to Surrealism, a figure from the past, fashion designer, Paul Poiret, was putting together a portfolio (titled PAN) of lithographic designs (produced by Devambez) in homage to the great shopping venues of the City of Light. Not so surprisingly, many of the submissions to that effort were suffused by Surrealist motifs, none to more exciting effect than those of Lucien Boucher.
